Chelsea 1-0 Norwich (2-1) Referee Craig Pawson
Poor game, excuse the pun, from the referee. It should have been a penalty for Norwich when William clatters into Brady at 0-0 – and the same goes at the other end for Chelsea shortly afterwards when Costa is grappled to the ground. So that’s one spot kick a piece. It also should also have been a second yellow for O’Neill late on.

Everton 4-0 Aston Villa (4-0) Referee: Martin Oliver

Manchester City 1-4 Liverpool (1-4) Referee: Jonathan Moss

Newcastle 0-3 Leicester City (0-1) Referee: Mike Jones
Sorry to be a killjoy here but Vardy is offside by at least a shoulder when scoring Leicester’s opener. Shearer says he is not, despite the virtual replay on BBC showing that he is. Weird. Gary Neville, on Sky’s Monday Night Football finally highlights the fact, admitting: “He’s offside,” before changing the subject quicker than Vardy bangs in another goal. So, but for the lack of TV replays, the Vardy record equalling run of ten goals in ten consecutive games would never have happened. Meanwhile, Okazaki scrambles in the Foxes’ third but is offside when Vardy shoots. That’s another strike chalked off for the alleged League leaders.

Southampton 0-1 Stoke (1-1) Referee: Lee Mason
It should have been a penalty for the Saints when Wolscheild kicked Pelle late in the game – as Keown was quick to point out on Match of the Day.

Swansea 2-2 Bournemouth (1-2) Referee: Andre Mariner
No way is that a penalty for Swansea when Ayew actually trips himself. Marriner, though, points to the spot and maybe keeps Monk in a job as a result. Controversially, Keown and Shearer say it is…but every other pundit says the opposite – and so too your HPL.

Watford 1-2 Manchester United (1-2) Referee: Robert Madley

West Brom 2-1 Arsenal (2-1) Referee: Mark Clattenburg
Whether it was a penalty for the visitors when Chris Brunt leant on Alexis Sanchez in the 86th minute would have been open to serious had Santi Cazorla’s slip and double kick of the ball, which floated over the bar, not rendered the entire issue irrelevant. One point of possible interest is that Sanchez was tripped and pushed and niggled all day by West Brom players and maybe this convinced Clattenburg it was time to take action when the Chilean collapsed. The Sun reckon Morrison’s equaliser for the Baggies should not have stood because Arteta did not deserve to concede the free kick that leads to the goal. Debatable to say the least and not the type of review the HPL advocates. This is where the football dinosaurs will have a field day. Rightly so. The fact is Arsenal’s poor marking was to blame for the Morrison strike. And, if you start looking at these moments, then you had better be right on the ball because there are so many in every game. It actually puts a huge question mark over The Sun’s so-called Real League Table. What?
