Canaries sick as the proverbial…

HPL result is shown in brackets, with official real-life score first.

Games with an HPL scoreline change in red.

Saturday, November 28

Aston Villa 2-3 Watford (1-3) Referee: Lee Mason
Skipper Richards should have been flagged for offside, by some distance, when heading in Villa’s first from a free-kick

Bournemouth 3-3 Everton (3-3) Referee: Kevin Friend
Was that a penalty for Bournemouth at 1-2 as Smith goes down under Galloway’s clumsy challenge? If so, the Cherries win a seven goal thriller. However, John Motson probably calls it right when he says: “It’s not nailed on.” Result stands. MOTD fail to review post-match with duo Shearer and Murphy.

Crystal Palace 5-1 Newcastle United (5-1) Referee Stuart Atwell

Leicester City 1-1 Manchester United (1-1) Referee: Craig Pawson

Manchester City 3-1 Southampton (3-1) Referee: Roger East
Steve Davis seems to deliberately arm the ball away from goal following a header. Could have been a penalty but as City score from resulting corner to make it 2-0 we need not worry because, of course, even in the hypothetical world of HPL it is quite impossible for City to score twice in this instant. Later at 1-2 down, Southampton have a good shout for penalty when Fernandino handballs but this is ignored by the pundits and makes no odds to the actual result.

Sunderland 2-0 Stoke City (2-0) Referee: Mike Dean

Sunday, November 29

Liverpool 1-0 Swansea (1-0) Referee: Anthony Taylor
Simon Beck, the assistant, flags for handball when Neil Taylor turns his back and blocks a cross with the elbow. It is clearly a handball and upon review HPL finds it impossible to change the match-winning moment, Milner scoring from the spot. On Match of the Day Two, Ruud Gullit says: ‘’It’s a penalty’,’ as does Danny Murphy who adds: “I personally think it’s a penalty as it’s not the right way to jump. His arms don’t have to be that high.” Under-pressure Swansea boss Garry Monk, meanwhile, says “I thought it had to be deliberate. It’s incredibly soft. “ But he would and while it’s a close call HPL is sticking with the decision because of general consensus.

Norwich 1-1 Arsenal (2-1) Referee: Jonathan Moss
HPL and the co-commentator on Barclays Premier League Review, whose name eludes me, believe it should have been a penalty for Norwich, who were 0-1 at the time, when Flamini clatters ??? inside the box. As can be their way, MOTD2 completely fail to review this.

Tottenham 0-0 Chelsea (0-0) Referee: Michael Oliver

West Ham 1-1 West Brom (1-1) Referee: Martin Atkinson
